Alkimila Botanikals offers small-batch herbal blends synergistically designed by Jennifer Herrera Condry, an adept herbalist and plant alchemist, to honor the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit. With a focus on the spiritual and medicinal properties of plants, Jennifer combines ancestral wisdom, spiritual teachings from her Afro-Indigenous Caribbean lineage, and traditional and clinical herbal knowledge to ceremoniously create each blend using organic, ethically sourced ingredients.

Welcome, I’m Jennifer Herrera Condry, an herbalist and plant alchemist, arts administrator, co-founder of Juniper Creative Arts, and creator of Alkimila Botanikals. Born and raised in New York City, I am a first-generation US citizen of Dominican descent and carry with me a legacy of Afro-Indigenous Caribbean healing practices.
I draw inspiration from the rich traditions of my family of artists, entrepreneurs, healers, caregivers, espiritistas, and warriors from Ayiti Kiskeya (the Taíno name for the island now known as Haiti and Dominican Republic). Because of them I am.
As a lifelong student of plant magic and medicine, my education blends passed-down wisdom from my family and ancestors, spiritual teachings, 20 years of hands-on experience working with plants and flowers spiritually, and over 900 hours of advanced training with clinical and master herbalists. I am also trained as a Hatha Yoga teacher and a Reiki Master. In addition, I have a BFA in Art History with minors in Studio Art and Business, and an MA in Spanish Linguistics. In 2020, I “retired” from a 22-year career in higher education to work full-time for our family business, Juniper Creative Arts, focus on furthering my herbal education, and building our herbal product line and brand, Alkimila Botanikals.

Since 2020, through Juniper Creative’s Artpothecary, Jennifer has been offering herbal tea blends intended for moments of reflection, restoration, and relaxation, and to restore harmony and vitality to your whole being. With the expansion of our offerings, Alkimila Botanikals was born, allowing us to share not only herbal blends but also personalized education and guidance to support you on your own healing journey.
The name Alkimila Botanikals is inspired by the transformational power of alchemy and a reverence for Alchemilla “Lady’s Mantle”—a plant rich with symbolism, medicinal and magical uses. Our creative take on the spelling incorporates linguistic influences from Kikongo and Taíno languages, using “k” in place of “ch” and “c”. This linguistic decision also aligns with cultural practices in Hip-Hop, where language is often reclaimed and redefined empowering us to express ourselves and connect to our roots. The use of "k" for us symbolizes a reclamation of cultural heritage and creative self-expression that allows us to honor the influences that continue to guide us.

At Alkimila Botanikals, we prioritize sourcing our herbs from organic, local farms as well as small regenerative organic farms, which share our commitment to ethical and reverential harvesting.
As much as we can, we use various plants that we grow or thoughtfully gather from our own land, which means that our love and care is harnessed with each harvesting.
